Before you begin your publishing journey, you need to make sure that your book's word count meets what's needed of all publishers to enable you to avoid getting rejected immediately. If your book can be an adult novel, approximately 80,000 or more words are the ideal word count that you can strive for. On the other hand, should your book is all about sci-fi or fantasy, you need to aim somewhere between 100,000-115,000 words.
